So a family member happened upon a Staffy. Managed to get him away from the home he had been in for the last six years or so. The home he was in left him locked in a flat for weeks, minimal human interaction, no exercise, he was no stranger to a beating. Anyway despite his crappy life so far he's a very sweet chap. Okay with other dogs and people. Shows some fear aggression with livestock on occasion if they come very close. Been walking him on the forest on a long line- he needs to learn to walk on a lead properly but I'm not the one to teach him, he's a strong boy and I'm a weak girly lol. All in all though he isn't a bad case, affectionate and good in the house, just needs a competent dog handler to take him on and show him the world that he's missed out on.

He can't keep him long term. Looks like he will be within the large proportion of staffys ending up in rescue. Does anyone know of any suitable people/rescue centres in the Hampshire area that are a good match for this boy.

St Francis Animal Shelter in Fair Oak (near Marwell Zoo) are good at rehoming the less fluffy cutesy ones. The guy who runs it is called Sol and is very down to earth.
