Stage 1 - Weighing Haynets

I have my stage 1 soon and weighing haynets is apart of the syllabus, and from the Stage 1 book and video it looks like a spring balance is used to weigh it. I’ve never used a spring balance before. Which part of the haynet do I attach to it? I can’t find any videos or resources on it. Or, if you’ve taken your stage 1, did you use something else to weigh it?

I weigh haynets and the balance has a hook so you can just attach it anywhere (but normally the top) and then just lift the balance up (don't hold the haynet as it won't weigh properly).

On the hook end once you look at one you will know which way up they go or the bit you read will be upside down, I hang mine from a rafter in my feed room which works well.
