I'm looking to take my Stage 2 in the summer and was wondering which centre to go to. I live in Hatfield so I think my closest options are Oaklands, Trent Park or Lee Valley, unless anyone knows of any others? I would like to have some lessons on the school horses before the exam - Trent Park seems very expensive and I'm not sure Oaklands does lessons unless you are doing a course. I definitely need some jumping lessons as my share horse doesn't jump so my other option is to have some lessons at a riding school that is not an exam centre. I would be grateful for any ideas or experiences people have had of centres in the area. Thanks for reading! :D

Have a look around. I've just done Stage 2 care with someone offering lessons, and am taking riding lessons at a non BHS school to work on my jumping in preparation for the ridden exam, both with an AI. Not everyone is an accredited trainer though, but maybe look on the BHS website for a local instructor and ask them if they are prepared to help you.

Thanks, I'm going to have a few care/lunge/flat lessons with a local instructor, just need some jump lessons at a school as the horse I'm riding at the moment isn't ready to jump yet. The jumping is the part I'm most worried about! Are you planning to take your exam soon?
