Stage 3 or PTT first? help!

I aim to complete my BHS AI within the next year but don't know whether to do my 3 first or PTT? If I do PTT first then I will be part qualified but there is then a time scale to complete the port folio so should I do the 3 first?? Opinions needed!

i am bhsai fully qualified, i did my 3 first and then my ptt- the portfolio is pretty full on and took me a few months to complete (even doing a bit every night). i would do your 3 and get that sorted and then do your ptr so then you can not have the worry of doing your portfolio alongside studying for your 3. Although, you do get 2 years from recieving your portfolio to completing it, so there's no massive rush

Are you working on a yard where your already doing a little bit of teaching? I was going to start my ptt before my stage 3, as I was teaching kids and novices under my bosses supervision, but left working with horses before I done it

I used to teach full time but have onlly done bits and bobs over the last few years

If your not teaching now then I'd do you stage 3 first then. Then you won't be worried about getting enough hours in. Good luck.

You don't need to log hours anymore its a portfolio instead
