We have a 7 (April birthday) mare - got her as a just turned 6 year so we've had her just a year.

She has never been a fan of her feet and we had a stage of her not standing to be mounted but otherwise a very well behaved girl. We never found her to be spooky until this Spring and it has got progressively worse. She'll be in the school and take offence at somthing random / unseen jump and scoot away.

At first we put it down to the weather then season but I wondered if anyone else had experienced relative youngster doing something similar?

I have a very spooky sensitive 5 year old, he is only a baby but spooks are a bit ott. He is definitely affected by the grass this year and I have started him on a magnesium calmer which has helped. We have grass here that has not stopped growing and I think it may be affecting his tummy, so will chat through with the vet.

Try something for her tummy but also check tapeworm counts. Babycob went through a stage of spooking so badly I needed 2 new hats in short succession - very high tapeworm burden. Apparently quite painful.
