Ok so picked up my 14h gypsy cob 4 year old today !

I am looking at showing her but not sure about rules etc ?

Really needing some ideas for cleaning her feathers and tail as very stained ? Any hints or tips ?

I use dermoline insect shampoo on blue his feathers come up really white you have to leave shampoo on for about 10 mins though people at shows always comment on how clean he is. It's a lot of hard work if they have a lot of feather like blue.

as an owner of 4 grey horses and a bay with white sox ....
We use dettol - look up Newmarket wash....
For tails I use Net curtain whitener but am thinking of trying domestos as thats what our local race yard uses

Another vote for dettol!

Also, look up safe care products on facebook.. Their mane, tail and leg wash is super! Its faaaaab and the staff are sooo helpful! Its also very affordable x

What a pretty girl I love her eyes!

I use human 'touch of silver' shampoo on my girls' flaxen tails, there is a twice weekly toner shampoo as well (very purple!) Costs 1.99 in home bargains if you have such a place!

Wow, she's beautiful. Love those eyes.

I use plain old fairy washing up liquid for general washes and getting the grease out if I've been a bit lax in my grooming, and then a Whal whitening shampoo (can't remember the exact name), but it's expensive and shockingly purple in colour for getting a bit extra whiteness when needed.

Oh, and really get in there when you're grooming to help stop grease building up right at the root of the hair, once it gets dusty as well it can be quite hard to shift.

Sheep face whitener from a farm supplies store. I use it on my two on their white socks and it is fab! We also have a guy at our yard so literally uses a paintbrush and paints it onto his coloured haha they look like a they have just come from a Daz advert though!
