Stair gate/barrier

Has anyone tried these? I'm not sure if the feet look too wide to fit on a regular stair?

I need to replace our concertina 3 panel (now 2 panel and cable ties) and thought this might work. Want cheap, pref not fixed to the wall. I dont need anything strong or secure. They won't push past it. As long as there is a visible barrier they know they are not allowed upstairs but it lets the cats through... and Cecil but he's allowed

We had one of those, works well to remind dogs not to go upstairs but no defence from a determined dog.

Interesteting. Its for the labs, they are both very good but will follow me up if there is no barrier, they won't even think about it if there is something in the way. Does it stand ok on a step?

Easily made with a piece of ply on feet. We use the box one of the crates came in, it wedges nicely, cost nothing and is scary if it falls. Quite big, mine won’t push it.
