Stallion characteristics

Where can you find out what characteristics a stallion is thought to pass on?
Eg some are known for siring 'hot' offspring, some for good jumpers, some for flashy movement, some for trainability.
I'm just curious as to what characteristics it was thought my boy's sire (Weld, TB) would give him.

I dont think there is any specific place its knowledge that you pick up through seeing lots of horses and word of mouth…

I think its one of those things you have to have a good chat with the owners of the stallion & also (if there is any) previous offspring.
I bought one of mine based on his sires very kind personality & it was definitely passed down to him. Also my Welsh D has inherited his sires hot head!

I have found, having bred the grand total of 15 foals that they are more often than not, a carbon copy of their dam
