Sorry Anna123: I did think that you knew how FI was bred as you liked one of his foals at the BEF Futurity, Arena UK in August and you have mentioned in a couple of your previous posts about going to see him .

Hi Amelia - this forum business can't half get tricky (especially when I don't really know what I'm talking about re breeding). ANYWAY, YES I have been thinking of Future Illusion but I'm afraid bloodlines really don't click with me etc - I'm sure they'll start to....

Is Future Illusion graded yet, I'm sure he must be?

[/ QUOTE ]

Hello again jennyjones...

FI isn't graded yet as he's only 4 and because he's been very busy at stud, has not had the work to prepare him for grading. When he's ready he'll be presented, he's got nothing to hide

He has been inspected twice by the British Equestrian Federation at the their annual evaluations and received a 1st Premium both times, and was Reserve Champion Yearling (all disciplines) in 2005 and Reserve Champion 2 Yr Old Eventer in 2006.

He looks nice and he has made some pretty foals,

Thank you jennyjones, I think he is nice

. You're quite right too, that he has made some "pretty foals". He has only had 2 crops of foals (which were basically my mares plus friends) and he did not stand publicly until this year. Even with that small number of foals on the ground, his stock have already won at County level in the show ring.

But also... from his first 2 seasons at stud he's produced 100% BEF 1st Premium foals, and and Elite 1st Premium foal, who then went on to be the 2008 Champion Eventer and Jt Reserve Supreme Champion. I think that would qualify them as "potentially useful competition animals" as well as being "pretty"

but how tall is he?

[/ QUOTE ]

He's 16hh now, but will mature to 16.1hh, as advertised. That makes him 2 inches bigger than McGuigan, 2 inches bigger than Ben Faerie and 1 inch bigger than Headley Brittania! LOL!! It also makes him an inch smaller than Primitive Proposal and about 2 foot smaller than Primitive Star LOL!!
