Is anyone going to this? Or been in previous years? Trying to decide whether to go or not? Can't seem to find much info about it anywhere online. Thanks

They are rubbish at giving info on what stallions are attending. If anyone knows which ones will be there I'd be greatful too!

They had a good turn out of stallions last year, but whether it will be as good having it two years in a row who knows. Mostly dressage and showjumpers last year even Graham Heal and Charles Upham didnt bring out a TB. Probably this time it will be all TB's as it is always had to get the balance right. They do stipulate that all stallions have to be graded or the young ones have the potential to be graded. But there were two stallions there last time which had failed their gradings! If I go it will be interested to see if they stick to their rules this time.

They had a good turnout of stallions and in my opinion a good range of stallions from eventing, (kings composer, devils jumps, sula ??) dressage (broadstone chicago, a stallion from solland stud, fountainebleu(sp?), show jumping (barons graphite, zubin r, lennox), and ponies (kantjes unicolour and carl) and plenty of showing stallions (inschallah, dalcote kriegoff (SP?) its a good day you get to view alot of stallions quickly and get to chance to the stallion owners and team

My 2 boys are going - their first public party so could be interesting! I'm glad I'm not riding them!

I've not been before but a few of us from the yard are going down to what manflesh the south west has to offer

Rin (Fourwinds Gethin) and Flash (Ducal Flash Dance) are both going, having had a disaster with the lorry overheating on the way to the PSHP Hartpury one. At leat it will give them a chance to use their music and commentaries which were so carefully prepared for last week!

Tall Trees still seems to be taking entries and I gather that they don't announce the order until you get there (I could imagine the reaction of some of the dressage prima donna riders we had at Hartpury to that one!) so I'm not suprised that they are not very good at letting people know whats on when.

And as one of the major problems with British breeding is that everyone still thinks their own stallion is 'of gradeable quality' (even if manifestly NOT graded) I wonder how they control the quality as far as that is concerned?

I would imagine that they are only still taking entries to allow as many stallions to be viewed by spectators as possible, and i have to say that last years stallion parade was really well executed compared to other parades i have seen. Sadly unless it becomes law to use only stallions that are graded, there will always be people who will use ungraded stallions, its upto the mare owner to decide,

Last year the running order of stallions were announced prior to the day, you just need to keep checking their website. I personally hope its every bit of as successful as last years
