Stallion heights?

Posted earlier about putting Alisha in foal and choosing stallions etc. How much smaller than the mare can the stallion be? Have been reading in a book that it is a good idea to put her to a smaller stallion if it's a first time pregnancy to reduce the risk of foaling problems. Alisha is 16.2hh so would a 15.2 be ok?? or can it be smaller? or does it need to be bigger?

It depends more on what the stallion throws more than his actual size. Say if he's 15.3, but throws big babies, you could be in trouble, were as if he were 16.3 and threw small babies you'd be better off.

Ask how big his parents were, and his grandparents too
