was very impressed with the stallion hickstead who was jumping at the olympics for the canadian team.
i have try to search for information on him and to find out about his stud fee but no joys has anyone any information on him or know where to get information on him

thankyou

He's owned by the Fleischhackers, of Ashland Stables Inc., Maple Plain MN if you want to try to track them down.

I have to say I've NEVER seen an ad or even any breeding information for the horse in North America so he's certainly not being seriously promoted as a stallion at this point. That said, there may very well be frozen semen from him somewhere.

glad you posted this as I was also interested in finding out more about him........come on Ken...get to sleuthing.....

this horse was impressive!! sharp brain and seriously scopey, would love him in my yard, will be interesting if ken gets him for the uk

The horse isn't hard to find - Eric's pretty well known and he owns part of it.

He's also a pretty savvy businessman, as, I suspect, is Fleischhacker, given how much they spend on horses!

His stud career plans will be interesting to see. Good break off the line, Ken - gold medal speed.

I do think he is especially impressive when you consider he had colic surgery last October….so not even a year ago….they’ve clearly done an amazing job with his rehab in order to get his stomach muscles, etc back into shape in time to jump so well in Beijing….far less to be in current gold medal position…..

exellent ken looking forward to your results regarding hickstead

Does anyone know if he's approved? I've been looking on line and can't find evidence either way.

(Although I'm sure that won't be an issue now. More than one stallion has gained approval across the board by doing well at the Olympics.)
