We are looking for a natural covering sport horse stallion standing in the south west. Something in the approx £500 NFNF category. Anyone got any suggestions?

What are your other criteria? Height, bone, any particular conformational features needed or to avoid? What type of mare is he for and what are you looking to improve/compliment? Specialising in any particular sport sphere - dressage, event, SJ?

Just after quick suggestions to help our search, as we are new to south west, can't be writing great long threads at this time of night after another long day. Got a good idea of what I am after and why, so not about to justify entire breeding plan or rush her off to the first available stud!

If you have a good idea of what you are after then it might be prudent to let others into the secret so that they can give up their time searching for you or thinking about connections they might have... Jeez!

Well I'll start the ball rolling

I can recommend My Eclipse, who is a full TB by Shaab. I have used this stallion twice and been extremely pleased.

He is standing in Cornwall, near Hayle.

That's fine. I can't be doing spending time suggesting stallions that might be way off the mark for want of a little extra information.

Good luck with your search.

Billie - I would love it if people gave up their time to search for me! Do you really think that might happen as may divulge my secrets if so! Will you help?
Wiggy - you may having super human staying power but for me, this is nearly bed time! I work 12hrs x 7 days and bedlington calls! Supper, yard check and beddie byes for me :)

******, now written so much retort that I should have just waffled on about my breeding plan in the first place.

So : OK: Want Tortillas, can't afford it! Need Dressage horse willing to work BD medium up, can't afford it! Got good solid nice moving Holstein 'type' but with poor recent fertility hence Natural. Need bone, uphill movement and good hock in a stallion! Can cope with any foal nature chucks at me, as happy to compete in any sphere and probably give it a home for life as run a riding centre and totally hopeless at letting go of anything!

Sides' mare has to do the biz this year or she is off to Findus Foods!!! (joke!)

Erm, yes if you let people know what you want from a stallion then there will be plenty of people willing to search the net to see what they can find.... I don't get it..

My names not 'Wiggy', i am not what old men wear on their heads.

I'm at college 4 days a week 8-6pm, up at half 5 everymorning feeding animals. Get about 10 pieces of coursework a week to do, and i've had 2 hours sleep this weekend.. along with working 7.30am - 10pm yesterday ;)

Although i don't have super human powers, i'm 18 and have had several energy drinks throughout the course of today ;)

Hey Wigster! 4 days a week, you part-timer! Do you want a job or you going to waste more time at college?! And, I am 108 years old, totally bald, blind and have to do yard with an orphaned lamb attached to each breast! So, don't lecture me you whipper snapper!

Is she an exceptional mare with good competition record or amazing breeding? If she isn't then its not worth breeding from her. Just adding more useless horses to the market.

At the tender age of 18 I very much doubt you would recognise an exceptional mare if it trod on your foot.

You know, many of us will breed a foal or two for our own use from our non olympic/world class mares, gaining great pleasure from it and ensuring the off spring is correctly reared and looked after.

Having an 18 year old tell us we haven't a clue has made me smile.

Poor Wiggy - getting a bashing now! Maybe they really do teach something at college, Alice?! She does get coursework after all! teehee.

Assuming it's an equine course, lets hope they teach them useful things like holding a twitch and not letting the handle go.

I have sent you a stallion suggestion. A rare old fashioned english blood horse. Might suit your rubbish mare !! and remember to book the services of Wiggy for help at foaling time, you will never do it by yourself.

blinkin funny AA !!

I have 3 jobs aswell as college, my comment wasn't a lecture, it was atchually abit tongue in cheek, but never mind.

Ahhh, youthful humour! Not sure I understand this tongue in cheek thing as my tongue was bitten off by a rabid horse and my cheek contracted rain rot over winter and now has open weeping sores in it!

You sound funny! Good luck with your course and jobs!
