The "Salon des Etalons" is being held at St Lo in France again this year. The dates are 23/24 February.

St Lo is the capital of show jumping in france, and the event is being held at the National Stud (we have 25), which is the most amazing facility. St Lo is only 30 minutes from Caen, so you can get the over night from Portsmouth.

The lineup is to be confirmed, but last year we had nearly 100 stallions including such greats as the French World Champions, Eurocommerce Berlin and his friends, some of the Zangersheide stallions who are to be stationed in France this year, Baloubet du Rouet, the Nijhof stallions, the National Stud stallions including Flipper d'Elle and First de Launay and a stack of really interesting show jumping sires.

Again, I'll be there to look after you and help with hotels, transport and translation, although contrary to popular belief we all speak English over here.

It's all very exciting and you'll get to the see the very essence of the World's number two jumping and eventing breeding nation.

totally random unrelated point but as you seem to be located in france, where are some good places to see some sj/eventing? my parents live in poitou charente so i am always going down there via car and would love to detour on the way!!! does le tourquet do anything? Thanks v much if you can help!!!!

Well, it is a fact (unbelieveable I know) that France actually has more events than England (I know I couldn't believe it). But France is such a massive country that I couldn't tell you what and where other than the obvious Martinvast, Fontainebleau, Saumur, Le Lion d'Angers (best event in the world bar none), Compiegne, Deauville, Pau etc

If you speak French go on www.ffecompet.com all the competitions are listed on there and I think by region or department.
