El Thuder (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Larome x Goldspring de Lauzelle) adds a LOT of blood to the mix for a WB stallion. This was my colt by him out of a mare very similar to your description:

- Desir de Chateau - sire of 2010 7 yr old World Champion SJer at Lanaken

Thanks for mentioning El-Thuder, he is always open to visitors!! Shane Breen's Balloon is super quality, he will be at the SSGB in Feb as will El-Thuder and stable mates.

Thank you so much for that Competitiondiva....he had such a promising future and his loss still kills me daily. One day I hope to find another mare similar to his dam and repeat the breeding and hope that his daughter that I have due in April is everything he was and more!

What about Baltic VDL? watched him jumped in Hengelo and he really impresssed me and he won the class. He then went on to win the stallion class in Roosendaal. Really nice blood type (55% xx) by the Quidam x Lord son Quaprice who jumped for france before an early death.

Contendro 1 really stamps his stock he has sired numerous graded stallions and his stock are now coming through in both SJ and eventing. He also has a very strong dam line. Another young interesting stallion is King Kolibri (Kolibri -libro H )standing at Watermolen stud in Holland. He is only 8 and jumping well in1.45 m and age classes with Jos lansink

if your going to push the boat to contendro then why not use Cornet?

I bought her in Holland 3 years ago as a yearling. last year she had a foal by Cicero and was only broken in October.

I wouldnt use Contendro to add a blood type. He throws lovely stock but I wouldnt say he would refine.

of the SJ boys here, Sir Shutterfly is a real little blood horse and the foals I saw by him last year were all very blood type and elegant.

Have you considered Utrillo van de Heffinck? Almost identical to Cornet but alot cheaper, produces some nice types and good jumpers. Or another Clinton x Heartbreaker is Ensor van de Heffinck. He is only 6 but maybe one for the future. He looks a bit longer lined and rangier than Cornet and Utrillo.

maybe we were just lucky then when we used Contendro. Our mare was more of the old fashioned type. She had 4 foals by TBs, but the contendro is by far the most quality and blood like of them all.
