This is Minx, (perhaps an apt name for a broodmare) my new Mare by Lupicor H out of Seminka. Feel free to comment on her weak/strong points too, I'd rather know if I've missed anything, to bear in mind when selecting a stallion. Dont hold back either, if I didn't want to know I wouldn't ask.

Pics aren't fab but best I could do with limited time and light tonight.

NG can you tell me more about her, age and height etc?

LLT2 dont think the Lupicor x Numero Uno would cross, or one I would not necessarily go for, they are both related through Lord Calando, so depends if you are into Line breeding..

OK....going on the pictures alone (nothing else, i.e. her pedigree). Firstly the pictures are not the best, but you know that yourself...

She looks quite long to me for the length of legs, but I cannot tell if the camera is at an angle or not...

She looks short in the cannons and a little straight through her hindlegs (again could be angle of camera), has a good bum, shoulder and looks quite pretty. Also looks quite deep in the neck and thick in the head and neck connection.

To me I would be going for a lighter weight stallion with not too much length through the back.....last thing you want is a horse coming out like a sausage dog...

Have seen a Rhodiamant mare like that and it was the strangest sight!

Pretty much how I have her, excepting, due to angle, she's short in the back 6ft - 6ft3 rug and small, only about 16/16.1, I personally like quite short cannons, and they look proportionate to the rest of her, the main bits I picked up on was slightly weak through the hindleg and short backed, thick through neck and neck/shoulder, good points bum and shoulder and is very very pretty

. Her neck is also longer than it appears but is still thick. pedigree: pedigree

Budget up to £1500, foalie for me to Jump then sell when I can no longer afford to campaign it or i'm not good enough to take it any further.

She's 5, so no comp record yet.

Interesting, she has both Ahorns in there. She's related to my B, as B's sire is by Olympic Ahorn - I don't often see him in pedigrees.

Very pretty mare, sorry, brain has gone to sleep and I can't think of any stallions...

She is certainly very well bred

. NG I am right in thinking she is just 5 then, so not going to do that much more growing.

Can you get more shots of her standing level and directly at the side for us to look at, i.e. a better angle....as I am just not convinced with how she is length wise (not talking about just the size of rug

).

Personally I would still want something to refine her but without adding to the length of her body to much, but to add to height and give her a better hindleg...

Hello *waves* not seen you on here for a while! lovely mare. I see you've got the Lucky Boy line in there too

Not really good on the stallion front from a picture but I'd put a little more elegance in there perhps? Think Sir Shutterfly as recommended is lovely, or Sir Donnerhall perhaps? Or even (takes deep breath) Balou du Rouet?

Would love something with Lupicor lines

will try and get some more pics today if I can, and some of her trotting - it's quite breath taking!

Hi Arwen

yup got my Lucky Boy line lol. Damn Comp's been broke n playing up for ages, thats why I haven't been on!

I agree you've had some lovely Lauriston babies HG.

I like Sir Shutterfly, not familar with Lando (will have a look) and For Pleasure's lovely!

I'm waiting on the DVD from Zangersheide too, and I like Larino, Verdi and Zento from Nijhof and Veron and Indoctro from VDL. I like the Idea of putting a Concorde or Jalisco B line in her, though I need to be careful I go off whats in front of me and what compliments her too. My major downfall is a lack of familiarity with Damlines, unless they have good sires too.

Go Trakehener - choose a graded and performance tested stallion. They are the best!! You'll get size with refinement, brains with beauty, speed with stamina, quality with toughness. You'll get a potential eventer/dressage/show jumper - the world at your feet. And remember it costs the same to keep a mare in foal and rear the offspring whether it be a good sire or bad so you may as well push the boat out!!
P.S. not biased or anything me!! Good luck.
PPS don't believe it if you hear Trakehners are flighty, they are just smarter than the average ned!!

hi your mare looks ok but hard to tell from a photo.

We have just bought a rising 4 yr old stallion from Holland by Lupicor H out of an international mare by Nimmerdor who has already produced two world cup horses. He is absolutely stunning and i think myself lucky to get him as we bought him on the monday just as the word had spread over the weekend that Lupicor had died. He is very well marked and a real modern, athletic sports horse with fantastic conformation and movement- i just hope he is as impressive under saddle as he is loose jumping. I must comment on the temperament of the Lupicors as well - if you have a mare who is quite hot and her temperament is not as you would like then Lupicor is a reliable chap to use !!! I have a foal due shortly by him as well!!

As far as recommending stallions for your mare then i could list many but they are all a matter of preference and everone will have something different to say about them all !!

A couple of my favourites at the moment include:

Air Jordan
Landor s
Numero Uno
Cornet Obolensky
Chellano Z
Ustinov
Argentinus
Lux z
