I would like stallion suggestions for the following please :)

This mare http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10616943 she has 462 actual BSJA points & 301 notional jumping up to 1m20, excellent temperament, good paces and conformation apart from being slightly long in the back. She's 15.1hh so ideally we would like to breed something that is bigger (around 16-16.2hh) and that will hopefully have the ability to BD or BE as well as jump. She has already bred a superb foal.

The other is a 16.2hh, mw ISH who has excellent conformation and paces with a decent loose jump and is good enough to show at county level. She is by Allegoric out of a Ballenvella/Santabawn mare. Again I'd like to breed a foal that would ideally have the ability to compete at affiliated level in all spheres. She's very bold but can be a tad opinionated at times.

Ideally I'd like the foal to have commercial value and have a good enough temperament to be suitable for an amateur to compete. I'd also like a foal that I could get graded.

I like the following stallions so any comments on them, their suitability for the above mares and their progency would be much appreciated :D

Chilli Morning
Future Illusion
Groomsbridge May I
Valesco
Desir Du Chateau
Wolkenderry
Armour G
Legrande
Don Ricoss

I'm surprised that Kings Composer is not on your list. He was a Grade B himself, and has sired grade A's as well as numerous good eventers (didn't somebody on here say that one of his get is eventing at the Olympics?). He is a very compact 16.1 TB. I sent my young mare to him as Dalcotes had sent me lots of pics of his offspring jumping, and they were all very neat in front and used their shoulders correctly, just what I was looking to breed for eventing. My 15.2 mare has produced a very nice youngster, now two, who is already 15.3hh (first foal), and he is very scopey with a very free shoulder movement. Here are a couple of photos of him this year...

This youngster is 3/4 TB 1/4 Welsh D.

If you would like any further information regarding Legrande and the influence he has on this mares, you are more than welcome to contact us. Legrande also enjoys meeting visitors if you would like to arrange a viewing. I think it is very important for all mare owners to visit and meet their short listed stallions. Sometime photos do not do them justice and sometimes they are not quite up to the photos in reality!

You've seen the pictures of my Valesco foal so will hae some idea how he influences the foal. He certainly has longevity on his side and a super nature which he is said to pass on, but I wouldn't necessarily describe him as a strong commercial choice if you are breeding to sell (that wasn't an issue for me, I breed to keep with the proviso that I would never turn down a sensible offer)

have a look at Franklyn sugar (Fuerst Heinrich x Acord II) Fabulous breeding and proving himself in every sphere . He has just come 3rd at hickstead 6y old championships, where Farouche (same sire) won on 99.6%
Franklyn has his first crop of foals on the ground which are all looking super and getting great scores/comments at the futurity

Thank you everyone for your PM's and comments so far. They've been much appreciated.

@ the Watcher, I was surprised how strong an influence Valesco has had on your little Pierre and if I was breeding from a native or cob he'd probably be my top choice as I love Selle Francais'. I have concerns about using an older stallion though.

If I could guarentee the perfect (for me) foal I'd be seriously tempted to use Hillviewfarm Trevelyan on mare two and Legrande on the first.

Both Chilli Morning and Wolkenderry make my mouth water (they are the only two I've seen in the flesh so far).

I'm going to do some more research and try to view all of the stallions on my short list before making a final decision. Any more information anyone can provide me with will be much appreciated :)

I agree 100% with this, I have visited stallions who appeared to tick all the boxes on paper but, although fabulous animals, were not what I was looking for in the flesh. For me, visiting the stallion and seeing him move is essential
