Next year i have decided to breed from my mare. The foal will be for keeps. The mare in question is a 14.3 native type tested homozygous mare. With the best temprement you could wish for in a horse.I want to produce something that will be an allrounder and do a bit of everything. Im no expert on comformation or which stallion would be suitable for her .So suggestions welcome. Will pay up to £600.00 stud fee..

Well I had a native type, coloured Welshy type mare (not homozygous tho) and put her to El Thuder in 2007 - VERY pleased with the foal. He is a proper allrounder but is actually quite special. He is now sold but I will be presenting him for his owners to the Futurity this summer.

This is him: http://oakwoodfarmstud.synthasite.com/ofs-the-max-factor.php If you scroll down you will see his mum and dad.

Thank you! We couldn't be more pleased with the cross......well...he could have come out a coloured filly however he is a cracking bay colt!! LOL

El Thuder is owned by Brendon Stud in Sussex, www.brendondstud.com He is doing very very well as well having recently come 2nd in the 5 yr old Championships at Hickstead.

Would a TB stallion be suitable?. I have heard people say that sometimes this combination can go wrong. I do not want another native type as dont want anything too heavy.

If you are looking to breed another Homozygous true breeding coloured and you wish for TB not native then this may interest you.
if you want more info please do PM me.
he is by Ricco out of Angrove Dance Girl and he is Homozygous and 7/8th TB grandsire was the Hoys Puissance winner Sarahs Pride.

I put my coloured mare in foal to Billy Be Cool who has a wonderful temperament and is the most handsome stallion. I am thrilled with my beautiful filly foal who was born in early June (I can show you pictures, if you would like!). Fred and Lisa are really knowledgeable and helpful, especially to first-timers like me! You can see more details at www.southernsporthorsecentre.co.uk

Amazing all 4 posts exactly the same just cut & pasted for everyone looking for a stallion. All different types of mares as well, a good stallion in deed to compliment so many different types.

I was beginning to think it looked familiar

Brendon also have some very nice coloured stallions - would second Amour G he has matured beautifully this year. A friend of mine has also just used Aimbrey Chester, he is 15hh with Atlantus lines, very nice boy and producing some gorgeous foals. He is at End House Stud.
