anyone got ne ideas of a stallion i can use for my mare??? also how much do you think she is worth??
she is full tb, placed at county level as a small show hack, dark bay, 5yrs old, shes from quite sharp stock, (so stallion must have 1st class temperement,) movement is correct but not wow!!! shes had one foal, (fab stamp of a light worker)and been sat on but not ridden away. the foal wouldnt be for myself so any type of stallion a possibilty,

Any photos of her? What bloodlines is she? Winnings etc?

What are you planning to do with the foal?

don't quote me as i am asking for help stallion chosing too,
but sallyf has a stunning stallion which if you are looking for a show hack may suit you, ask her she has been very helpful
to me and she may know if he will suit your horse or recommend another more suited

Our Belgian warmblood x TB may suit her, he has reproduced his lovely movement and temperament in his stock.
You can even ride him to see what he feels like!
We may be too far away for you but for stud fees etc pm me. (we are in Devon)

You first need to decide what type of horse you are looking to breed.
If your mare is a small hack then you may be a bit limited to the differances that you can make .e.g you probably not going to breed big and heavy show hunters.
But you probably have a couple of choices either stay with breeding another show hack/whp/shp or go down the small eventer/dressage pony route.
Both are foals that would sell as there are good markets for them.
Good show hacks are in short supply.
Then you need to decide whether you want natural cover or A.I.
If the mare is T.B and you A.I her you will have to look for another society to register her foal with as Weatherbys will only take natural cover.
So that then brings you to location and how far if natural cover you want to travel , if A.I have you good vets nearby.
Take a good look at your mare and try and pick a stallion that complements her.
It would be good to see a picture of her.

ummm tryin2fing a good picture of herr, her dam line is air display and her sire is lir BUT she does not have the sharp line like her father thankfully!!! we have bred a small event / dressage foal from her already, the foal is not for myself so am lookin to breed a foal along the lines of showing or young riders eventer

There are a number of small stallions about that are duel purpose.
My small T.B stallion covers a lot of show mares and small eventers and has had great success from his early crops of foals .
Eldest proper crop only two but already getting winners at Hunter show etc so throwing the goods.
he is also out of a mare that SJ at Grade B level as well as showing success in hand and under saddle.
So really duel purpose bred.
The other option would be an anglo or part bred arab.
There are a few about depending on where you are Dolphin Supreme would be one of the better ones for show horses.
But there are not that many duel purpose ones who are from proven comp families.
Sunray stud have some that have done well but tend to be a little lighter.
Location would have a bearing as would whether you want to A.I.
There are some nice PB arab types but some are known for there very hot temps.
PM me with some ideas and i will see if i know anything about them or there bloodlines.
