Stallions, geldings and the bit that makes the difference!

As far back as I can remember I have always believed that a gelding could not get an excited "gentleman"! Now I have witnessed myself my youngster playing "slap the tummy" with his male appendage and he is definately a gelding. So,,,,,,,, surely it is IMPOSSIBLE for a gelding to penetrate a mare in season? I ask this because a friend told me today that her gelding had done just this to her mare

I suggested blood tests on the lad as I have never heard of such a thing? HAVE YOU???

They can do everything apart from actually get the mare pregnant.

I think blokes would be less willing to have "the snip" if they couldn't do anything afterwards!

Same principle!

Geldings are less likely to want to mount a mare, but that doesn't mean they can't if the fancy takes them!

Both mine can do all the deed if they get the chance and neither are rigs. It is quite embarrassing when they perform like that!

Yes, I too was surprised to find they still retain 'erectile function'. As I discovered yesterday when nearly getting poked in the eye grooming under Cat's belly

OH yes - my gelding was viewed with one of the mares last year doing what he shouldn't - apparently the old lady who owns the field was a bit startled! (I bet the mare was too)

oh yes, we have a gelding in with our two mares and well....... its not uncommon to see them up to no good

Much to my mares delight they can!!!!

Hence she is now kept on her own!!!

Umm I don't think my husband would have been willing to be castrated like a gelding !! vastectomy only involves cutting the tubes carrying sperm not removing the testicles that make the sperm !!!
