Since it is that time of year again and if I don't breed from Sienna his year then I never will, I am narrowing my choices and would love suggestions as to potential husbands.
We are based in the SW, I would like a local stallion (50 ish mile radius), so I can go meet him & she can go to the stud to be Inseminated fresh.
Need a stud where there is a high degree of expertise in insemination and success with difficult' mares as we've tried twice before without success, though we also didn't make much effort either time.
Want a near TB, ideally though would look at wb. baby would go out and be high class allrounder, main occupation would probably be showing. Ideally 16hh, no preference to colour etc. Stallion must have a proven, fantastic temperament.

Here is Sienna:

She is tbxish. Mother and father have wonderful temperaments, as does she. She's 13 so this is her last shot (as a maiden). She's 15.3ish, though she came out small and will throw bigger than she is probably.
She Needs a stallion who will add quality and movement.

Would love to get bigger pictures but can't seem to!!!

You are very welcome to pay us a visit although both of my boys are full T.B .
Both have fabby temperaments and we have a lot of experience with A.I and difficult mares.
We would certainly tell you if we thought it was impossible.
A.I a high percentage of mares on the stud , infact we only natural cover the ones we have to e.g T.B mares.
Babies here well yearlings to see at the moment as well.

Amy was difficult to get in foal - not conceiving or absorbing a number of times with AI - frozen and fresh.

I took her to stud for natural covering in the end - and hey presto. She stayed at stud for about six weeks.

Just something for you to think about.

Middle one in my signature is an Oldenberg with lots of TB in him, he is very beautiful and has had lots of interest from showing enthusiasts! He has fab temprement, is graded SHGB and is doing very well at BD, regularly gaining over 70% with 9;s for his medium trot and his free walk, and has a fab jump at home. He is also 16hh which is ideal for a small mare/first timer! We are based in Gloucestershire. We have 2 AI tecs on site, and have experience with difficult breeding mares, one of which is expecting a foal from him in march! He so far has 100% conception rate. Come and see him!!

our web site is www.motefarmstud.com

Grey, Rupert steiff, 14 has competed at PSG but is on box rest as he got tendonitis! He is by a Show jumper called Ellanville out of a Tamara mare, he is so well bred you can trace his lines back ALLL the way
The next one is MFS Raubritter, search on google! he is rising 5 just about to start Elementary as he's qualified Novice. He's by Rubin Royal out of a Lemon Park(eventer) mare.
The last one is MFS Zegeinerknabe (mouthfull) he is being prepared for next yrs 4 y/o classes. He is rising 3 and is by Don Primaire out of a Wolfgang mare, nice mix of Dressage and SJ there! we have two other Weltmeyer stallions, who are also rising 3 one grey and one chestnut.

Yes, logical isn't it......
Plan is, to SJ for a couple of months, do a couple of events in March on a ticket, then she goes off to stud.
I'm not particularly optimistic, she'll take, so I'm covering my bases, wouldn't want to get bored!

He looks lovely & my favorite wb's are oldenburgs so may pop and have a look. You must be near Meadows stud? I could do a stallion tour in your part of Glos.

I've got a fantastic 20 month old by Treliver Decanter - just over the bridge in s. wales - treliverstud.co.uk

decanter has a great temp - seen him a few times - and my boy has a cuddly outlook, loves being scratched and you can do anything with him - he's never been a days trouble since he was foaled.

I do like Derek and he would be a hot favorite, except I might get a pale chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail and I really wouldn't like that (even though I said colour isn't an issue)

A chestnut to a palomino would give you a 50% chance of a chestnut and a 50% chance of a palomino.

Derek is quite a rich pally, so depending on what type of chestnut your mare is, if she were to produce a chestnut foal it might be quite rich or cherry rather than pale.

IMO Derek is a super type and Im hoping to use him this year.

you could check with Gill on the genetics - but my dark bay mare by Derwen Red Marvel - so dark bay on sire's side and lots and lots of chestnut/palomino on dams side - produced a striking dark dun who is loverly and from a 14.1 mare he's about 15.1 now and will easily make 16hh. and has got fantastic movement (and we know he jumps as he clears the electric tape for fun and took himself across one of the XC jumps to get into the field with my TB dressage horsie.

(anyone want a cuddly 20 month old ladies eventer/dressage horse ? can stay with me to grow up - it's just he's not a mare and he's not palomino <sigh> )

My Sadlers Wells horse is called High Tension and my little T.B/sport horse stallion is called Groomsbridge May I.
We are south of Bristol about 20 mins off J27 of the M5

He is 12 this year but didnt stand at stud until 2002 so eldest stock are 4 this year.
Primarily covered T.B mares to start with but starting to attract some very high quality competition mares now .
Has got himself and throws the most amazing temperaments.
