My mare is in foal to Utopian opposition. I wondered if anyone has one by him or has known any and what your thoughts are. I understood that he was a BSJA silver disk stallion, but can't see him listed as such on their website.. Any comments from anyone gratefully received (even if negative!)

I'm a big Opposition fan, have had many by Fleetwater Opp but dont know that many by utopian. He has sired some good horses and he himself was a decent horse. I wouldnt say he produced the quality that Tyke did and of course a lot depends on the mare- he probs didnt get the best mares.

Utopian Opposition is SHB(GB) Graded Stallion you could check out www.sporthorsegb.com all I know is he's 16.1 Brown Trakehner born 1990 by Fleetwater Opposition out of Union by Karneol. He is stood at Landford Common Stud. I have their address in my SHB(GB) Stallion List Brochure if you would like it? He was definitely a show jumper. if he is not showing up on the BSJA Stallion Rankings that maybe because he isn't currently registered with the BSJA because they only have currently registered stallions on there. You could do a BSJA horse winnings search and that will tell you what Grade he is without paying the £5 for the print out.

Thanks for this. I initially tied with Tyke but unfortunately she didn't take, so on the third go I went for Utopian as it was getting late in the season. I would have loved a Tyke foal but I don't think she got on with frozen semen. The mare herself is an intermediate eventer, unfortunately her career was cut short due to a paddock injury. She is a quality horse (in my humble opinion) though and hopefully she will produce something decent.

There is not much info on Utopian about, I don't know if he has had that many mares (comparatively) . I am looking at Primitive Proposal for this year, I rather like the look of him and have worked with the dam and the sire and know them to have lovely temperaments. Any other suggestions?

I had a stunning foal last year by Loheky Helios De Bornival, he's a International Grade A Silver Disk Stallion, she is back infoal to him for this year. I got the SHB(GB) Stallion list for this year today, if you say which area of the country you want the stallion to be in i'll list them for you.
