I am really sorry I couldn't stay to help you all after my initial visit at 8 am this morning, if I could have wrangled a day off, then I would have done but I had to go to work (although over an hour late in the end - whoops!). I am so relieved that everything was o.k. in the end. Well done to all of you. Early nights all round I think!

What a fab result, thanks to Andy and Chloe, all of you who joined us this morning and of course all of you here on HHO shouting your support for us

Did you manage to speak to the RSPCA BER?

No I didn't I'm afraid, at least not in any depth. The Officers who turned up weren't the original ones who investigated. The good news is that if the bloods show there to be no underlying reason for the emaciation then they ought to make a decent but slow recovery as they are actually very bright in themselves.

Once again, well done everybody, and SO happy they're somewhere comfy and eating up well.

A huge well done to all of you sorry I couldnt be there with you but had relatives waiting for me at Burghley.

So pleased Carrot and Spud are safe and warm, didnt sleep much last night thinking about them.

On saying that I did question a RSPCA representive while i was there, asked what was happening about the neglected ponies in Stamford, she was VERY cagey obviously knew what I was talking about and gave me the number for Head Office. Can undersatnd this but OH and I felt that she had been well prep'ed incase she was asked anything while on duty.

I've been dipping in and out of this thread all day(bit tricky because I was at work) and I just wanted to say that I think everyone who's got involved in this has done a fantastic job! It's so nice to see a happy outcome for a change and to see everyone working together to get this sorted out.

I used to think the RSPCA did a good job..........not any longer!

Been following this whole thing quietly since last night; what an amazing bunch of people HHOers are.

Just hoping the help hasn't come too late and the poor ponies can make a full recovery.

Did anyone set up the Just Giving page for the BHS (or whoever it was - was mentioned yesterday I believe). If so could someone kindly post the link on here?

I am truely DELIGHTED to hear of this great news THANK YOU to everyone that took the time to update us on here for those that couldnt attend and for those that went to the field....I was horrified that the OWNER of these poor animals said they were fine...ummm hellooo.....bet he was a fat ugly pig....and am glad that they are now tucked up safe and warm and being fed.....crackin names by the way too.....I've been waiting to get home to find out more all afternoon....
do we know what will be happening with the other ponies in the field???

Just soooo thrilled I can't express how happy i am to hear of this....WELL DONE ANDY AND CHLOE for highlighting this on here what wonderful people you are....and that goes to the rest of this HHO!!!

YYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH :-))))))))))))
I'm so happy

QR,

fantastic effort by everyone and thanks for posting the story talverna, you were all fantastic and at least that is two that were saved.

Have just finished reading the very long original post and the H & H news report on the story. I am so very glad to find this thread and read that the two ponies are now in a safe place and will now receive the veterinary/basic care and feed they need. I am hoping it is not too late for the chestnut as he was in an awful state tbh. If there is a sad outcome ( which I dearly hope there isn't) at least the lad can find peace in a dignified way rather than just being left to waste away which is what it looked like to me.
Well done to Andy and Chloe for their hard work in highlighting this sad situation in order to gain the well needed publicity to start the wheels in motion in rescuing these ponies. Also well done to everyone on here ; friends, contacts, the media and to those who have already tried to highlight the plight of these animals in past. Working together is what ultimately saved those ponies from a very unsuitable situation (putting it mildly).
