Got a few extra photos- hasnt done a huge amount of jumping.. should the fact her ears are flat in the jumping photo put me off?! (does it mean she doesnt enjoy it?)

Does she pace? If so then she could be struggling with the trot & canter. Standardbreds are usually very honest though and will try very hard for their riders. If you want something to jump higher than local level it might be better to get something else. For general riding standardbreds are great fun

Is she a pacer or trotter? My dad did a spell driving these horses at Tir Prince and I have ridden both a pacer and a trotter. How long out of racing? She still has a bulge of muscle under her neck which may take some time to sort out before she is able to ride on the bit properly. How experienced are you? Because unless you have some considerable experience I don't think a standardbred would be right for you.

Sorry I don't like her. She appears tense and babyish, which I would think is a bad sign in an 11 year old. You can't tell from one picture what her jumping enjoyment is, but if that's the best picture they could get

The same horse? Or are you looking for 2 horses?

IMO I do not think she would be right for what you are looking for - she looks pretty tense, and as it says "not for a novice" in advert, that would indicate that she would not be right for your mum. I know you say you are looking for something for yourself as well, but as it will be mainly for your mum, you should find something that suits her better than yourself (if that makes sense).

Also I hate to say it, but the fact that there is only a mobile number, and she has not put her name on the advert would ring alarm bells - I know you say it is a private sale, but I would guess it's actually a dealer mascarading as a private seller.

Soz not keen on that at all (but then not the sort I'd go for anyway) HUGE muscle under it's neck though and V short coupled. Wouldn't surprise me if it preferred to stand on 2 legs (hind) as opposed to 4 at all!! heehee

What are you looking to do with your horse, is it to share with your mum or two separate purchases?

The one the link goes to looks ok but states NOT for a novice so i would avoid. Is that the same horse as in the pics?

I thought these would be a little more suitable (but don't know your budget or where you're based). Think the andalusian or the little red and white could be lovely (i love the red and white though!)
