A bit of a long shot on here but does anyone know anyone that breeds Standard Parti Poodles?

I have decided that this will be my next pet but it will need to be a bitch as I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog.

Any ideas or advice on buying a standard poodle would be appreciated.

Just my opinion, but you might be better to stick to a reputable breeder of solid colours to be on the safe side.
I know that in my own breed, people who breed for colour alone and especially non-standard colours, tend to compromise health and character as long as they get pwetty kolors.
To me it is no different to breeding for any other fault.

Each to their own though and good luck in your search.

I want one that is Registered and the parents Health Checked.

I don't want to buy one that is just parti coloured but is up to Breed standards as well.

It can't be up to breed standard as poodles should be solid coloured. As people are breeding mismark to mismark rather than for type they tend to be poor quality.
I do know someone who has UKC registered parti minis in the USA but you can see a type difference between the partis and the solids.

As mentioned, it will not meet the breed standard if it is parti-coloured x

But well done for seeking health tested parents :) hip scores are important in standard poodles so definitely go for a pup from several generations of nice low scores :)

What's a parti poodle? do they come with balloons and cake and stuff? :)

Yeah, you got it, and they don't generally surface (rather like students) until about 4 in the afternoon, which as we all know, leaves us to a bit of peace and quiet in the mornings. ;)

If they can be taught to retrieve, or gather my sheep, then I want one! :D

Alec.

One of my many farriers had a poodle (admittedly not a parti one ;) ) and clipped out he looked not unlike a GSHP to my untrained eye. He was a working gun dog and did fabulously at it, by all accounts.

I only want one for a pet but want it to be true to type (other than the colour).

I never have the same breed twice and the dogs I have had to date have generally found me rather than me going looking for them.

I have seen a Standard Parti in a local park and it was so unusual with a fantastic temperament.
