Standing on horses backs

Actually, and this is something someone else made a thread about, what baffles me is the use of pictures in adverts?
For example, I saw an advert on facebook the other day about a horse. It was described as 'very handsome' but the picture used was a scruffy horse resting a hind leg tied up in the yard and looking away from the camera?!

I hate adverts entitled 'stunning horse.' I know its a horse, I can see a photo. What I want to know is age and hight. I was fantasy shopping the other day. Someone was selling a 15.3 with the heading Darling Pony!

If I was buying a kids pony I expect I'd be reassured to know its previous owner had done every imaginable thing with it and lived.

Oooh I'm loving Trudie Trollop, her balance is excellent! As for me, at a mere 34 years young I can't get on without a mounting block, so vaulting and all that nonsense holds no appeal! Viewed a pony for loan 18mths ago, stood like a rock whilst his owner stood on his back on the yard.... however he reared everytime you tried to ride him down the lane!

it doesnt really bother me that much, although i dont see it as a selling point, so wouldnt be impressed by it, what DOES annoy me though is adverts of people riding in trackies and trainers with no hat jumping a massive jump badly! Horse covered in mud...... It seems to be the norm now.

BTW i dont mind people that ride in trackies and trainers (its up to the individual what they wear), i just hate seeing adverts like it. Why not wear nice things and have the horse all washed up looking its best? I dont get it?

This a million times over!

It is all easy peasy for my friend Trudie Trollope, Head of Breaking Cart Horses Department. She can vault, break dance, pole dance and do the twist on top of a horse.

Is that ted?? (hoping i have the right person now) haha.

I agree that I see nothing wrong with standing on a horses back, as long as it's done safely - vaulters do it pretty much all the time. I would think them a bit stupid if they weren't wearing a hat.

Also the dirty horse/bad picture - I normally look like a right scruff with a half groomed horse, old chaps, possibly trackies & my high-viz builders coat but i'd polish myself & the horse up & get a decent photo if I ever sold one!!

Yes day to day I'm covered in mud and hair and straw etc etc comfy clothes on and giant hi-viz jacket and the horse is usually scruffy and muddy too, but when I sold one of my horses last year I made her and myself smart for the advert and first to see bought :)

Wow love Trudy Trolope's planking on a horse - what core muscles!

I just think those type of pics look chavtastic. I wouldn't bother looking any further at an ad like that.

Yes, that is Ted being very brave about having 'something' above him.

Well that's certainly "something" to have on you back haha. He's so big now!

:D
To be honest all my horse hunting has been done in magazines so you've got 1 photo to make an impression, a good jumping or conformation shot are the only ones that really get my attention.
