after months of keeping her feet on the ground and me believing she had grown out of it while at the vets for sedation for the dentist he applied a bit of pressure to her head (which always was the trigger) and up she went so any suggestions as to how to deal with it before it becomes a handling issue and too ingrained and a problem. No fault to dentist her apprentice or vet just a pain in the neck but just bad timing and perhaps lack of listening but we are where we are and need to start again or come at it from a different angle

Don't hang onto her. Immediately she starts to rear, let the rope go slack.
Horses rear in response to hard hands, and if you give them something to resist they will resist it.
A horse must be taught to yield to pressure from the halter.
