Had vet back tonight to reasses after being on a high dose of Danilon for week - first of was the flexion on the right hind and to his surprise lol, she actually come up sound...SOOOO that's good as he said he's been able to influence the lamness.

We then sedated her (bless her she was snoring hehe) to scan her suspensory ligaments. He only had his portable scanner, and luckily he didnt see anything he was worried about.

So outcome being, it's deffo the spavin we are dealing with so is going to be booked into the vets for start of IV drug treatment 'Tildren', along with steroids and HA and then go from there. While she is at the vets is also going to rescan her ligaments with the big machine just to double make sure lol. So not bad news but still not fab. Next step, see how she responds to treatment....

Thats much more positive news! fingers firmly crossed for you and her

Heard of Tildren - just cant remember for the life of me why!!

Oooo fingers crossed!! We've just had a horse successfully treated with tildren for bone remodelling in a knee - it's just gone back into training! Good luck and vibes!

Fingers crossed that the tildren works. A horse I know had it very successfully for navicular problems and has been completely sound since. I know there are issues with colic symptoms when it is first administered, but this horse had no problems at all. Good luck.

Yay that's much more positive - I know it's still a big set back for you but fab that it's not the suspensory and now you know what you're dealing with she can get started on her recovery

Glad the news is quite positive for Star

Echo above, I know a horse who's had a lot of soundness issues - he had Tildren last year and has been sound ever since. There is a colic risk to it, and I know the vet that administered it insisted on keeping him at the surgery for 24 hours afterwards as he's a colicker anyway. He was fine though.

Fingers crossed it works for Star!

Thanks guys

Yeh he said about the risk, so i will prob ask for them to keep her in overnight just in case. He also said about a slight risk of laminitis with the steroid jab, but is not worried about it as it will be such a small amount used...

I'll keep you all updated..x
