Hello, does anyone know whether there are any rules/guidelines around start times? Over the last six weeks I have entered twice at a local BD venue: 1) the first time after trying the website, the booking site, phoning the organiser and emailing the organiser I finally obtained the start time on the eve of the competition; 2) the second time having done all the above I did not receive notification of my start time at all.

I contacted BD to find out the official view of a competitor not being able to access a start time, to date I have had no reply. This is a local venue but I can't afford to pay entries and not be able to obtain a start time, it is pretty crucial in terms of competing. Any ideas, experiences which may help? Thanks

it usually says in the schedule how you should get the times, what day they will be available and whether you can look online or if you have to phone. I haven't ever had a problem with that other than at champs where BD have to verify the entries which occasionally holds up the times being released.

What did the schedule say? If you followed the instructions given then I'd suggest you raise it with your RDO.

The schedule said times would be available on the website, but they weren't there. Thanks I hadn't thought of the RDO.

Contact your RDO.
It can become a bit of a search, sometimes they are on the venue website (but not always easy to locate) sometimes they are on the entry site (if they use an external host like Horse Monkey or My Riding Life), sometimes they are on facebook. It doesn't sound like the organizer has been particularly helpful if they won't answer calls or emails, if they have a facebook page I suggest messaging or writing a post on there (if you write a post on there another competitor might be able to point you in the right direction).
However definitely raise it with your RDO as times should be easy to get hold of, not a test in itself.
