Hi All, due to moving house we are in the fortunate(?!) position of creating a new yard. So my question is if you could build your yard from scratch what would you change/keep exactly the same?

Keep it sensible though, no horsey swimming pools! :p

Vague plan is new minibarn & outdoor arena but that's all we've got for the moment. The horses will, for now, be going into the shed which houses makeshift stables but will form the indoor eventually.

All suggestions welcome!

I guess the main thing in a small paddock attached to each stall so the horses can choose to be in or out. Its great for when they're on box rest (keeps them and us from going crazy) and its also great for those really harsh Summers (when using a regular paddock during the night and keeping the horses in during the day).

Other than that, I find an indoor absolutely invaluable. A large tack and feed room with loads of room for hay is also essential.

Thank you, so excited to have an indoor! We won't be able to have the individual stable paddocks but planning a mini woodchip turnout area with field shelter, that along with indoor & outdoor arenas should cover our needs.
