I have recently been told i should strap my boy...and im really up for giving it a go.

I was just wondering if anyone has got any advice on doing so and any tips..

I have never done it before but i have learnt how to do it and been showed.

Thanks

I'm cr*p at explaining things but I found a video a while ago which explains strapping well

Hi, I am wondering what reason you are being suggested to do this for, think it builds up muscle etc.? My husband was a jockey and he said when he went into racing many moons ago, they used to strap all the horses and you got many "vicious" horses who end the end had to be cross tied to do it, but this practice stopped and he noticed that so did the amount of "vicious" horses. He said many horses really did not like it, its kinda akin to a person giving you a real hard massage every day. thought i would mention this as grooming should be a pleasureable/bonding experience, if you horse starts to get agitated, might be worth a rethink.

animal insight, most show horses are strapped, you wont find many of them that are vicious.
My lad is strapped daily upto 20 bangs on each part on each side (so 120 every day). he actualy goes to sleep whilst i'm doing it.
good for your muscle tone as well.
