Stay away show... and a single trailer

Does anyone have any tips on how best to transport things like a bale of hay, with only a single trailer? Towing with a Tiguan so car will be full of tack, rugs, everything else.
Staying away for 3 nights and stressing!
 
Put a bale of hay in a bag and strap it to the A frame at the front of the trailer, or fill big haynets ( to be emptied into smaller nets for daily use later ) and hang them on the outside of the ramp tied securely so thet dont swing about.
 
Fill one of the massive haynets and attach for horse to travel with - that will do 2 days. Then just need a smaller haynet for day 3
 
Eek I feel a 7.5 tonne lorry for me, the horse, his hay, my food, tack, clothes etc. You will have to post a photo of your packing skills. I would look to see if you can buy at the show.
 
Inside the front of trailer is good but if you can put the saddle(s) on the back or passenger seat, you might be able to fit it in the boot of the car. If you have several saddles you can imbricate them together and have the rugs rolled up on the floor/in the footwell.
 
Thanks for the suggestions. I have a roof box, but now also been informed really need to bring a wheelbarrow to cart stuff around in (I'd planned on skipping out into a trug). Goodness knows how I'm gonna get that in anywhere. Will have a look if its possible to strap to the front inside of the trailer but if it's anywhere near my precious cargo will have to think again... argh
 
Wheelbarrow and maybe be strapped to the back of the trailer (outside?) like transporting a bike?

I feel for you. I have a 3.5t and I use the entire empty partition and back for packing.
 
I done this a few months ago. Although bedding and hay was on site. My friend took a wheelbarrow in her spare side of double trailer but I had thought about buying a fold up one. I did see a few people use the pull along trolleys, maybe that would be easier to fit in the car. I dont think theres enough room in the nose of a single trailer to strap a wheelbarrow up to and there’s also the risk of horse getting caught in it. Eek.
 
A colapsable trolley will fold flat and be easier to fit in your car, and you can use something like a large builders bag or two Ikea blue bags (easier to lift when full than one larger bag) to muck out into, then transport them to the muck heap on the trolley.

That is an excellent word palindrome (in bold above), one to add to my vocabulary!
 
I stay away regularly with a trailer without partition, so effectively single! I have a tack pack in the front for boots, rugs etc and I have taken hay in hay bags on the roof but I now prefer to buy it at the venue. Even if they don't advertise most will be able to get you some in.

I muck out into a builders bag too, collapsible wheelbarrows are a nightmare!
