Posted on here last week about a new girl and her father on the yard who really annoyed me. Now I know it's early days but I am starting to dread going to the yard since they turned up. The dad gives me dirty looks and scowls a lot and she hogs the grooming area, water supply, best bits of grazing for electric fencing and so on. They are using the tack room and I don't trust them around my stuff one bit and their trap is parked smack in the middle of the walkway to the fields. (My tb would have freaked out if she was still around!)
Yard is 11 miles from home but I've never minded that as I was the only person there. I'm starting to wonder if I should try and find somewhere closer, not that it will be easy. At the moment I only have my shetlands, but once I get another riding horse there will be major issues with space around the place. Have mentioned diplomatically to YO that I'm struggling with the electric fencing this year (as she has claimed all the useable areas), but he is pretty laid back and I don't think he really minds what happens. Problem is, I wonder if it would be out of the frying pan into the fire with a new yard, I've been used to my own space for the last 22 years with my horses and tbh I don't really want to join a busy yard. What would you do?
