So now that Badminton is over, I guess it's okay to start to look forward to Burghley.

I would love to hear any advice or top tips from anyone who has stayed over in a caravan/motorhome on the campsite by the Golf Course. I'm told that you can eat at the Golf Club during the event, is that so, what's it like etc etc. Also, what are the chances of my husband getting a game of golf during the week??

Many thanks in advance

Oh gosh don't talk about Burghley. I am doing the XC course there next weekend - on foot! Google 'dirty weekend' if you want a good laugh at my expense:eek: ***weeps in terror and goes downstairs to do last-minute exercise DVD***

We didn't book in time last year, so ended up staying in a caravan site about five miles away that was gorgeous and pretty empty. It had a gorgeous on site farm shop and a lovely bistro that we booked for after XC day. We got sent through the golf course site one day driving out, and it looked huge and like a madhouse. I must be getting old, I prefered the quiet one. We will be going back to our real campsite this year too!

I'm doing that too unbalanced!! Eek!!! I also wouldn't worry about eating at the golf club op, if you do stay there the town is only a short walk away and there's loads of LOVELY places to eat / drink.

To be honest, we were only thinking of breakfast at the club. We know Stamford quite well so probably will eat there on the nights we don't BBQ.
