I had to look them up as I’d never heard of them!
I don’t like them, for starters I’d hate to have my hands strapped together! I know it says quick release but it’s a bit like my auto start in my car… a split second can make a huge difference.
My instructor always used to tell me to carry my hands wider than usual with my horse because it encouraged him to relax, so it wouldn’t work for him anyway.
They also look pretty bulky which would also be a no. I like really slim close fitting gloves.
What a weird idea. You cannot ride a horse with your hands tied together. I do not mean you need to wave them about of course but you need independent hands that respond accurately to whatever is going on, and God forbid your horse should spook or stumble while your hands are tied together. You may also need to adjust the length of the reins throughout a riding session and gathering them up again with hands tied together could be interesting. Also imagine being thrown off and being unable to instantly move your arms to minimise possible damage. The release may happen, or not, but it will impose a delay on any reaction. You should be taught how to use your hands, not to hold them rigidly in an ideal position. My undestanding is that there is a place for hands to be held level, at a certain distance from each other,on a finished horse, and there are all the other times when you need them to help a horse understand what you are expecting of him.
