My mare must have been twitched alot as she is very nose sensitive, but she has such a lovely soft big pink nose I cant resist stealing kisses. She doesnt like it, and I only manage to catch her just right every now and again. Does anyone elses horse not like being kissed - or I am the only mad one that does this?!!

Yes i always have to steal kisses from Ronnie!
Sometimes i think he finds it embarrassing being kissed by his mum in front of his friends haha

I have 2 that love it and one who hates it!! The one who hates it you have to sneak them!!

One of mine also likes cuddles - she puts her head down below my shoulders and waits for me to 'hug' her head - she will stay like that till I move, very strange girlie!!

My gelding is the same - there is no chance in the field, in front of his friends! To be honest, my chances aren't hugely improved in the stable - I might be able to sneak one or two of an evening, but anything more and you can forget it!

I'm buying my next horse, based on how affectionate he or she is!

Tiger LOVES Kisses!!! It's so cute when he kisses you back <3

Although when he's in a foul mood he HATES Them and they really wind him up ha ha and he tries to bit you LMAO!!!

xx

It'll be one I consider in the future - I'm fed up of dodging bites when I just want to cuddle or kiss my horse ... I spend enough money on him, I should be allowed to cuddle him when I like!!

we bought our mini yearling as despite being barely handled she lifted her nose and demanded kisses and asks for them every night at bedtime.my mare loves kisses and cuddles and daughters horse tolerates them.its lovley to have affectionate horses.weve also got a jack russell who loves kisses especially on her tummy.

Its about the only form of affection mine will tolerate! She has a very kissable pink nose so gets a good night kiss every night. My philosophy is that its ok to kiss horses noses as they can't lick their own a***holes! Dogs on the other hand...

i think V is a bit embarassed by it, but occasionally just very occasionally he puts his nose up to my face when i'm grooming him and gives me a big slobbery kiss, it makes my day lol. x

Ahh yes, I forgot to add that I had to avoid swinging legs and Gnashing (sp?) teeth at dinner time. Plus my OH thinks it's gross! Little does he know!!!!

Agh spelling demon has been invading my posts!

Dylan doesn't let you, but if you do it repeatedly he deliberately gives you a big drooly smooch and then looks at you as if to say, "are you happy now?!?!", while you stand there with your face dripping

Tom loves attention (including you using a damp cloth to clean inside his ears!!

weird or what?) but hates being kissed. you either have to hold his nose or hope that his attention is elsewhere. When you get him his top lip goes all weird and he has to rub it on the wall/door/you/another horse/his hay or whatever... it's like it tickles him!

Haha at dylan, clever horse!

Osc does not like kisses. He pulles a face and yanks his head away (but i hold on tight, no escape mwahaha) At least i used to get lots of big hugs off him though, but since he's been living out and not ridden due to snow, he's gone all 'ard and won't let me even have a cuddle

Operation cuddly pony commence!

Boo loves kisses, especially on her nostrils. She has the most velvety nose ever so i have to have at least 20 a day. She sticks her nose up for them.

Kiz would bite my face off, i've never even tried with her. Grumpy old woman that she is, it's degrading don't you know

Baby quite likes them but i don't trust my face on hers very often. I think it's a bit confusing for a 2 year old when setting boundaries.

Thats exactly what I told my OH when he told me how disgusting he finds it that I smooch my horse.

Forgot, I am allowed one kiss a day ... when I walk past to leave in the evening and say "Night, Dylan", he sticks his nose over the door very quickly for me to kiss it. He's a mummy's boy really
tongue.gif

Ron only lets you kiss him when there's noone looking (tho he might let you sneak one in the field if Tom's in front of him. He's soppy, but as he's boss he can't be seen to be being soft! and he doesn't really like OH kissing him (but then how many boys would be seen dead kissing a boy?)

I don't try and kiss the TB...I like my face how it is, nose still intact
grin.gif
he's not a fan of affection
smirk.gif
though he quite enjoys his nose and ears being rubbed, when he lets his guard down
laugh.gif

My old ISH loved kisses, he was so soppy
smile.gif

Luca is very soppy - though not as soppy as River was... they both however have the 'goodnight' routine - dinner in and i switch off the lights and as i walk back past their stable i say night and they stick their noses out for a kiss...

other time i can get as many kisses as I like! Its awesome! Affection is something I value in my horses... hehehe...

My big lad loves them and my 6yr old daughter thinks its fantastic. My little mare who is very reluctant with any display of affection most definitely isnt! But then I think thats because she isnt used to it as she came from a 'professional' yard and also I wonder whether she had been twitched to...

Fat Cob loves kisses and cuddles!! She has gone to sleep with her head on my lap a few times... I swear if she was a dog, she'd curl up on my lap
laugh.gif

As for kisses, much as she loves them, it's sometimes a bit dangerous. Butterfly brain occasionally forgot she's resting her head on Mum's shoulder for a snuggle and takes Mum's head off.
But Mum is used to it after 6 years now. I learnt to move fast!

there is little chance with her ladyship - it's all on her terms, shes a bit like me. But she HATES it when the beautiful colt next door sticks his head over the wall for a couple of snogs !! Ears back and thunders over to get him away from me lol So she does care really :-)

One of the geldings on our yard will kiss on command - he's so funny and never ever fails - but then he will also stand there while his mum chucks her coat over his head, or any other manner of things, I think he is the only horse I would cnsider 100% totally bombproof! He does sometimes kiss you when you'r not looking - cue banged heads on walls etc! My chap isn't over keen, but if you scratch him between his back legs, he spreads his legs and nearly falls over - highly amusing but you have to watch your feet as he moves!
