I seem to have developed steering problems. My lad is trying to lean on the bit and then motorbike round corners instead of flowing round in a smooth line. I keep finding that I am having to turn him more with the bit because he is locking his neck against me and not letting me use my seat aids. This is worse when jumping but also happened in my dressage test at weekend. Any suggestions on things to try.

I have recently (about a month ago) swapped from a single jointed to a french link do you think this might be easier or him to lean on? Any thoughts about whether a full cheek might help or not?

Thank you
