Sorry for the threads all over the place...
Our darling girl is right beside us on the rug ;D
I am so happy to have her home. While the car journey was a bit bumpy, we have since administered painkillers and she is totally comfortable.
As for the eye--OH MY GOODNESS! It looks like a real eye; it blinks, it's the same colour, and is almost identical to the other one. Once the swelling goes down, I think she's going to be back to her magnificent self.
More importantly, she has eaten three spoonfuls of food, taken her painkiller like a good girl, and did a wee head tilt when my husband spoke of "treat treats" in the car.
While we do have to keep an eye out for an elevated heart rate and possible lung aspiration--due to her vomiting before and after surgery, but not since, and everything is clear at this stage--I am optimistic for a swift recovery. Between the tag team of sitter/us, she is going to have her every whim catered to 24/7, for at least the next ten days.
I feel pretty good about things now, and Sooty, I'm going to PM you about your old terrier
