Stella spent the whole weekend with her new cousin, 14-week-old Crow, and they quickly became the best of friends. The rescue said she was Border Collie/Beagle but I think Dachshund/Jack Russell (she has the short, double-jointed legs, and only weighs 8lbs). Any other ideas?

After walks in the woods, 76 rounds of tug of war, "Chase Me, I Have A Leaf" (Stella, obviously) the girls eventually passed out.

Even in the land of yellow Labradors (otherwise known as Connecticut) Stella managed to sniff out a Pit. I was quite impressed

aww.is this a new dog for you?

No, it's my sister-in-law's dog, but we see them very often.

Our recent dog nightmares (foster we'd hoped to adopt attacked Stella twice, and bit someone pretty badly) have at least taught us that a small breed pup will be the way to go. Stella is incredible with puppies--so tolerant, and loves to play. I'm a bit of an idiot for not going down that route orginally, but hey ho...

Stella plays with APBTs all the time, being that they are so plentiful over here. Never had a problem, to be honest.

Stella and Crow look absolutely adorable, she looks very settled with her little cuz!!

Any luck on finding Stella another little companion?

We haven't resumed looking. The Murray episode knocked us for six a bit, but I'm so happy that Stella suffered no adverse consequences, in terms of liking other dogs. I am going to start volunteering one day a week at the local shelter again soon. They always have puppies in, and I think Stella will enjoy an impish young 'un by her side.

It was so funny to see Crow watching every move Stella made. Whenever Stella took a drink from the water bowl, Crow went racing over and stuck her nose in, as if to say, "Wow! What are you doing?"

Its amazing how they adapt to having a puppy around as well. Etta was so tolerant when we first got Lucy. She used to climb all over her and run riot and Etta just accepted it and loved her. Im sure little Stella will absolute love a little baby brother and sister in the future. You will have to keep me posted!!
