My boy is coming home from the vets soon so we can get back to doing some practise for little competition dressage. Last time we went a comment on our sheet was "steps earthbound" - after deciding it wasn't a cryptic clue to a crossword I decided it means he steps a bit heavy - which he does - he is a 16.2 heavy cob and had a blocked nose. He has had a sinus operation now so I can expect him to be more active but does anyone have any ideas on how we can get him more active and less on his front? We have only done a couple of prelim competitions with scores from 54% (bucking and being naughty
) to 66 and a bit %. I thought I might try half halting before we do a new manouver and putting some ground poles down to circle and serpentine over.
Has anyone got any more suggestions please?
