Here's a weird one. My horse had an anaphalactic reaction on Monday (bank holiday call out nice!!!) the vet gave him a large dose of steroids. He is better now but has turned in to what can only be described as a fruit loop in the field. he is getting almost stallionish with a mare that is in season and being very dangerous when i try to catch him. Could this be the steroids or is this just combo of spring grass steroids and in season mares???? He is normally very chilled in the field with just the occasional yeeha??
Anybody with any tips on this one.

I was warned when my horse went onto steroids last year there is a small chance of aggression as a side effect.

My horse is on steroids and although he's not aggressive (wouldn't know how to be) he certainly has more energy and prances about. He's also muscled up massively, vet mentioned steroids have quite a big effect on horses, she mentioned one stallion that was usually really docile became entirely unhandleable whilst on steroids. I wouldn't worry about it :)

We do realise there are a couple of kinds of steroids. Can't spell the first but that's for inflammation. The others are anabolic steroids used for muscle building and to increase appetite. I doubt if your horse was given anabolic steroids. There are side effects with both but anabolic are the ones most associated with aggression and muscle.
