Hi PLEASE DONT THINK THE FOLLOWING WAS DONE TO STRESS MY HORSES -I love them to bits........

I have 5 rescues horses all non riding and 4 of them can't be taken out of the field.

I love them to bits and want to give them the best life I can now.

I was watching a u-tube video and the woman used a Yoga ball to play in the field horse ran round stopping and charging off etc. - She said
she done this to give the horses exercise..... I can see her point.

I tried it and they ran about just like the video ..... I did it for no longer than 10mins.

MY QUESTION IS ............... They obviously was taking "Flight" but

1. Do you think it is cruel ?

2. Do you think good exercise for them ?

3. Do you think they actually enjoyed the interaction and something different?

They all came in as normal as I have to take them off the grass - No change in there behaviour.

No I don't think it's cruel I have one horse who plays with a big ball and pieces of wood ,his best friend ( now dead ) and he used to chase each other for hours playing with sticks it was hilarious he will also play with a football
My other two don't get it al all and I have not tried my new one on the big ball yet.
The only thing I would say is you do need to pick your horse some might become bolsy and rude so just bear that in mind .

No I don't think it is cruel, gave them something to snort about. As long as they don't take fright and end up jumping out, running through fences or hammering about on rock hard ground then fine.

If it is raining my OH goes out to feed with his big golfing umbrella up. As you might imagine there is a lot of snorting and carrying on.

Thank you both for reply

They did seem to enjoy it :)
Just wanted others views on it - they stood at the gate when I took it away lol

Never again!

Girl at yard out one in the field, they all went bonkers. I couldn't quite comprehend what I was seeing when I noticed my girl had blood flying from her coronet. Some dolt had stamped on her with shoes. Never seen that much blood and thought she wouldn't make it.

Irrational I know as these accidents can happen any time.

OMG - glad she pulled through. Mine just ran about not stressed .. ran stopped, looked, walked up to ball .
