Earlier this year I persuaded my OH we "needed" a 9kg machine. For the duvets, you see. Now just wash stuff when hisback is turned!
But I do use an order. Really hairy load first. Then a muddly load. Then his mountain biking clobber. Then fleeces/ horsey clothes; and upwards through the "presentable" stakes so that my lovely White bedding is a good few loads after the horsey stuff.
I bought an orange bag but didn't think it was better than a pillow case to be honest.
I put EVERYTHING in a washing machine Don't bother with wash bags either, if I feel very domesticated, I might run an empty wash before washing OH's underwear In my experience, not a lot of hair comes of in the washing machine, but the tumble drier is better than a hoover
I don't use an orange bag, but just bought a really cheap white single duvet cover from tesco and just put everything in there. That way you can put a rug in there as well, to stop the buckles banging the machine I elastic band an old sock round each buckle - works a treat
Not a good idea to put grooming kit in - tried it once and have a fin broken off my agitator - top loader. Maybe different if you have a front loader though.
I tend to wash mine in a bucket of warm water and horse shampoo, most of my brushes are wooden backed and they swell if soaked and can split when drying.
I'm sick of having hairy clothes
I'm buying a cheapy second-hand machine just for the boys' stuff so my OH doesn't moan about his work stuff being covered in ginger hair
I wash numnahs, head collars and brushes in the washing machine - my brushes survived on a 30 degree wash perfectly intact
I think I need to get out more!!! I have loved reading all of these replies and now have a weekend of cleaning and sprucing all planned...glad I have a good washing machine repair plan though!!!
we always put our brushes through just make sure you remove the excess hair before hand. we always put ours in an old pillow case and tie a not in keeps them all togther and most of the hair that has been wasked out atops in the pillow case =)
Hair hair everywhere and silt. I usually put things in a pillow case and tie it up with a rubber band to stop the hair getting on everything else etc. Good luck
