After coming off my youngster due to a spook and the same happening to my instructor yesterday, I'm wondering about getting a sticky gel seat saver to give me a bit of extra grip in those moments where he spins after a spook! Any recommendations?

Not so much a sticky one but I've heard the heather Moffat ones are good. I have one on order after my unplanned dismount on Thursday. I still have a sore bum and some spectacular bruises, lol.

I have the Cavalor one and rate it very highly as have a shape event horse and it has definitely helped a few times, also helps as a shock absorber in jumping and keeping my seat deeper in flatwork :)

Yeah I came off with the old spook and spin and broke my collar bone. He did the same to my instructor yesterday tho luckily she was fine. What kind did you order alainax?

I have the Heather Moffat one but more to protect my backside on long rides. I would get yourself some of those gel strip breeches from Tredstep as mentioned on another thread and treat your saddle to sit-tite spray.

Another recommendation for the Acavello Gel Out seatsaver from horse health, love mine and definitely has great "stick" factor which has been very well tested by my mare ;) Very very comfy too .

I have an Acavello gel out and it's fab. Really comfortable and helped keep me in place on a spooky silly horse last week. I'm tempted to get another so I don't have to swap it around. 10% off at Horsehealth this week

Tried mine for the first time today, I couldnt get off! :o
Tried to get off as normal and got stuck :p I guess ill need to put more effort into the dismount ;)

seemed to be super sticky, when ever I moved in the saddle i felt like i would be leaving my jodhpurs behind :p

Another vote for a Acavallo gel out seat saver!!

I really cannot recommend it enough! :) I got mine to help me sit on my big moving warmblood and it has been amazing. Not only is it super comfortable but it has saved my bacon numerous occasions, including when I was hunting and got caught in a tree :D

My friend has even been known to borrow it when jumping one of her younger horses for the extra-stickability ;)

What are the chances of a medium acavallo fitting on a 17.5" GP (Barnsby omega)? I'm looking at buying one, and have the opportunity to buy a medium cheaply if it'll fit.

I had a large on a 17.5" Keiffer dressage saddle with a fairly flat seat and it was a perfect fit, I think a medium would be stretching it too much :o
