My Welsh D's saddle is still slipping sideways. I bought a Stubben string girth which has helped quite a bit and also use an elastic breastplate (not that this'll stop it moving side to side). Ive tried doing the girth up on the 1st and 4th (balancing strap) holes but it makes no difference. Im finding it really slips XC to the point that a few months ago, we had to turn quickly to another fence and I had a refusal because my saddle was sliding right over!
Its getting really irritating now and obviously isnt comfy for my horse. He's very barrel shaped and I use a Wintec Cob saddle which was the only one to fit him at the time.
Ive tried a limpet pad and also a neoprene type one, neither help (and he gets very sweaty under them). I also tried a NEW mesh pad, again no real help. Have tried a wool saddlecloth but that was dreadful.
Ideas please??? Im planning to do his first Intro next month and really dont want his saddle slipping to be an issue!
