Anybody had experience of this procedure performed through keyhole surgery?
Following 4 years of sticky stifle our 5 year old is now booked in for this after 6 months of groundwork doing hill work & raised poles hasnt improved the issue & she is now lame behind.
X Rays last year were normal, X Rays this year show couple of anomalies so need to see what's happening inside with a view to carrying out ligament splitting to ease the sticky stiffle.
Obviously worried about everything & havent even managed to back her because of it all together with Grade 4 ulcers thrown into the mix!!

Following with interest... My Dartmoor Hill pony had locking stifle fairly frequently when younger - owned since 3. She is now 11 & it doesn't really happen any more. I backed her a few years ago & recently brought her into work again slowly. However, recently she has been 'off' on that leg & it buckles sometimes so no more riding until vet visit. It sounds as if you're further down the road & that there might be some options, whereas I was thinking that there wouldn't be any...

Sorry to hear that but yes there are lots of options including medicating area but in our case going straight for surgery due to symptoms etc. Just trying to book in surgery so will let you know how we get on.

Yes. The other stifle then locked for the first time ever in recovery. He’s still sound with no further issues approx 8 years later. He was about 7 when we went for surgery.
