I am thinking of taking my horseout for her first dressage since her injury and was going to go out on the 23rd but have decided id want to go out this weekend.

I emailed stilebridge and asked if they would take a late entry and that would i look out of place being a dressage numpty as i felt a bit nervious.

I got a very nice friendly email back today saying they have space so would happily accept my entry and were understanding of my nerves.

That said my horse came in with a slightly puufy joint tonight ( prob been on a hoon becuase of the wind ) so i have emiled back and ask if i can confirm tomo thursday that she is ok to still go.

Has anyone been there as i have driven past the pub on the way to duckhurst but never been there?.

Is it a nice vene with a good surface?

Just doing a walk and trot test- i hope i dont get laughted out of the arena when my horse does her famous camel run and doesnt want to play ball

Vanessa who runs Stilebridge is lovely and it's not a snobby venue!!

The surfaces are good they have 2 rubber arenas and for the unaffiliated they usually warm up in the 20x60 and compete in the 20x40.

You will be fine going there so don't worry. Just go and enjoy yourself.

I really like Stilebridge, Vanessa has the ability to add up score sheets, read a test and have a nice natter all at the same time without taking a breath!

Go for it, you'll have a lovely time. I'll be there this weekend too, doing the Prelim Q and Novice.

Thanks pootler, all the best. I wont prob see you as i will be an early test.

I just mailed back to ask if i can let her know for definate tomo latest thurs ust to make sure my horses leg is ok ( it was only a little puffy but im a worrier and its only been 10 weeks back in work ).

She said its fine i can let her know by 6pm on thursday but my time might be early. Its so nice to feel so welcomed and encourgaed and yet not pressured to make a desion.

Fingers crossed her legs fine and i can go.

I feel nervious and excited all at the same time hehe.

Hehe stacey i shall pack burger money.

I dont have much time to learn the test so would she or someone call for me do you think?. It will just take that extra pressure off of me our first time out.

I've heard its good, was planning on taking Ralph, but not going to happen until I've had my op, so if you go let us know how you got on

Another vote for Stilebridge here.

Very friendly, well run, organised venue, nice surfaces in both schools, and usually list judges for all classes - including the walk and trot which is a refreshing change from some venues who have complete numpties judging!
