Dog been on the raw food diet and I am still waiting for the smaller, drier poos! Its not happening folks. Took doggie off raw chicken carcases cos thought it might be that giving him runny poos, however made no difference. Have used, extra bone, pumpkin seeds, probiotics and various other remedies, still not right. And he gets a coating of mucus like a sausage skin sometimes, sorry tmi.
Hes fine in himself, I think Im getting obsessed though ! What else shall I do. haven't been ableto get actual pumpkin yet, but bit sceptical it will help.

I thought pumpkin seed was for when they are a bit bunged up, but I've never used them so happy to stand corrected on that :) Are you feeding enough bone? I know you said you've tried extra bone, but was that a one off or have your tried more bone on a daily basis?

I'd expect an improvement within 4-6 weeks so would be reviewing other diets/management options if no improvemnet.

How much offal are you giving? I have to be very careful with one of mine as he seems to tolerate only a very small amount of raw liver before he gets runny poos. I had to introduce it in minute amounts.

try him on chicken necks alone for a few days, no offal, no pumpkin seeds etc. they have right percentage of meat to bone to cartilidge and result normally in small whitish poos. It may also be worth giving him some Prokaolin to ensure he has the right gut flora and to help his poos get smaller. I use chicken necks as my staple food, and add in minced meat as required to keep the poo at a decent consistency

He is absolutely fine in himself, really active and bright. I do wonder if its because he had such terrible parasite problems, fleas, etc.that he has become sensitive. Todays poo bulletin, first poo of the morning big and bulky and sausage like, second poo loose and yellow !He does drink a lot of water after his walks because he runs so much so wonder if this may be some of the problem. I feel as if Im permanently down the vets with him lately with the itchy skin and seed down the ear last week !
