Still cant decide! Hunter or trace clip for NF mare out 24/7

She is RIDICULOUSLY hairy and fluffy and needs clipping as she is getting sooooooo hot when worked, but i cant decide what kind of clip!

Any ideas!

We have good grazing, hay out in field (not adlib) and she has a scoop alfa a chaff and 1/2 scoop of grass nuts once a day. I have a MW with neck and HW with no neck....she is out in MW only.....
 
My NF has a trace clip which does her fine! Another NF on the yard has a hunter clip with a MW rug with neck and fleece rug underneath. I went with the trace clip as i thought i could always take more off if she needed it!
 
I would probably advice a Trace clip, if the clippers are yours you could allways start with a trace and turn it into a hunter is needed.
Or an in-between, maybe a blanket clip?

My old Cleveland cross lived out 24/7 with a modified blanket clip and several different rugs, he worked hard and competed at weekends Hunter Trials and sponsored rides, so he was very fit and was 24 years old when he was semi retired.

He was in lovely condition and very relaxed living out, I took a line from his stifle up and along to the line of a blanket clip and everything came off at the front so it sort of tapered (chaser type clip), I left his hind quarters on but took off some of the fluff inside his back legs. Sometimes I did a full blanket but did not turn up towards the tail just straight across the buttocks when he was in regular fast work.

This worked really well as he could put his hind end to the wind if it rained hard but could loose the heat when working hard, he also had hair across his back in cold weather. He did have neck covers, a wicking rug and different rug weights but never got a chill. Natives are very hardy and you shouldn't have any problems but I would resist a hunter if living out, try a blanket of some kind first and take it higher if you need to?
 
Both my Newfies are fully clipped with legs and half head left on, they live out in full neck 200g rugs perfectly happy and have done for a few yrs now. I have crap grazing and do not ad-lib their hay as they would be the size of honey monsters if i did.
