Hmmm.
My youngster has swollen, hot back legs (back legs only) but no scabs or broken skin anywhere. I'm presuming it's mud fever as one leg was bad one evening and the next the other was just the same. I'm pretty sure it's not from hooning around and twisted them as he's not lame and is fine for you to touch them and run your hands on them.
Will sample some suggestions! Might keep him in too to give him a chance as he's a bit wet - he prefers being in anyway as some of the horses on our yard are just downright nasty barstewards.
